JAWS
Accessibility software product
Jaws are the bony structures of the mouth that hold teeth and enable biting and chewing.
The word often appears in the plural even for one creature's mouth: The crocodile's jaws snapped shut.
Figuratively, jaws suggest a threatening grip or inescapable situation: the jaws of death, snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.
To jaw is informal for talking at length, often tediously. (Capitalized *Jaws* is the 1975 Spielberg film about a shark.)
