underbite
Lower jaw protrusion
An underbite is a dental condition where the lower teeth extend beyond the upper teeth when the jaw is closed, the opposite of the more common overbite.
The term applies to both humans and animals—bulldogs and pugs are bred to have pronounced underbites.
The orthodontist recommended braces to correct her underbite.
