raised dots
Fingertip reading system
Raised dots are small bumps on a surface meant to be felt rather than seen.
The term most often refers to Braille, the tactile writing system for blind readers where patterns of raised dots represent letters and numbers.
Raised dots also appear on tactile paving at crosswalks and train platforms to guide visually impaired pedestrians: She felt the raised dots with her fingertips.
