Israeli salad

Chopped Mediterranean vegetables

Israeli salad is a finely diced mixture of tomatoes, cucumbers, onion, and fresh herbs dressed with olive oil and lemon juice.

The vegetables are cut smaller than in most Western salads—roughly pea-sized pieces that blend together in each bite.

It appears at virtually every Israeli meal, from breakfast onward: The hotel breakfast buffet had hummus, pita, and Israeli salad.
