bell pepper

Hollow, seedless vegetable

A bell pepper is a large, mild variety of capsicum with a blocky shape and thick, crisp walls.

Unlike most peppers, bell peppers contain no capsaicin and aren't hot.

They come in green, red, yellow, and orange—green being unripe, the others sweeter when mature.

Common in salads, stir-fries, and stuffed: stuffed bell peppers with rice and ground beef.
