Caesar salad

Crouton-topped lettuce dish

A Caesar salad is a salad of romaine lettuce tossed with a dressing of olive oil, lemon juice, raw egg, garlic, anchovies, and Parmesan cheese, typically topped with croutons.

Named for Caesar Cardini, the restaurateur who supposedly invented it in Tijuana in the 1920s.
