Islamisation

Adopting Muslim practices

Islamisation is the process of a society, institution, or region becoming more Islamic in character—whether through adoption of Islamic law, customs, or demographic change.

The term appears in neutral contexts describing historical religious spread, but also in political discourse warning against perceived encroachment of Islamic influence: the Islamisation of Europe.

Also spelled Islamization.
