Shetlands

North Sea islands

Shetlands refers to things from or associated with the Shetland Islands, a Scottish archipelago in the North Sea.

Most commonly, it denotes Shetland ponies—small, sturdy horses bred there—or Shetland wool, known for its fine texture and warmth: She wore a Shetlands sweater.

Shetland sheepdogs, or Shelties, are also from the islands.
