H-beams

Steel structural members

H-beams are steel structural members with a cross-section shaped like the letter H—a vertical web connecting two horizontal flanges.

They're used in construction to support heavy loads in buildings, bridges, and other large structures.

The shape provides strength while using less material than solid beams.

Also called I-beams, though technically H-beams have wider flanges.
