James Joyce

James Joyce was an Irish novelist and poet whose experimental techniques transformed twentieth-century fiction.

His works—*Dubliners*, *A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man*, *Ulysses*, and *Finnegans Wake*—pushed language toward stream of consciousness and linguistic play that influenced generations of writers.

Joycean describes prose marked by interior monologue, dense allusion, or wordplay: a Joycean sentence that runs for pages.
