Entente

Allied powers pact

An entente is a friendly understanding or agreement between nations, less formal than an alliance or treaty.

The word is French for "understanding." It appears most often in historical contexts: the Entente Cordiale between Britain and France in 1904, or the Triple Entente linking France, Russia, and Britain before World War I.

The two countries reached an entente on trade matters.
