Triple Entente
France-Russia-Britain pact
The Triple Entente was the alliance of France, Russia, and Britain formed in the early twentieth century, primarily through a series of bilateral agreements rather than a single treaty.
It stood opposite the Triple Alliance of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy, and these two blocs shaped the alignments of World War I.
The Triple Entente powers faced the Central Powers across the trenches of the Western Front.
