East End

London's working-class quarter

The East End is the historically working-class eastern section of London, stretching from the City of London toward the docks.

Long associated with immigration, poverty, and industry, the area has undergone significant gentrification while retaining its distinct identity: She grew up in the East End.

Other cities have East Ends, but without qualification the term usually means London's.
