Docklands

Regenerated port neighborhood

Docklands refers to areas around commercial docks or wharves, especially former industrial port zones that have been redeveloped.

The term is most associated with London's Docklands, a district along the Thames transformed from derelict shipping facilities into a financial and residential center in the 1980s: Property prices in Docklands have soared.

Other cities use the term similarly for their revitalized waterfront districts.
