dockers
Ship cargo handlers
Dockers are workers who load and unload cargo at docks and wharves.
The term is more common in British English, where American English typically uses longshoremen or stevedores.
The dockers went on strike over working conditions.
The word also refers informally to a style of casual khaki pants, from the brand name. (Capitalized Dockers is the clothing brand.)
