Delaware

Smallest Mid-Atlantic state

Delaware is a small state on the Atlantic coast of the United States, the first to ratify the Constitution in 1787.

Its status as a corporate haven means many American companies are legally incorporated there: Half the Fortune 500 is incorporated in Delaware.

Delaware also names a river forming the boundary between Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and a Native American people originally from that region.
