Default
Standard starting option
Default is what happens when nothing else is specified.
A default setting is what a program uses until you change it.
Default also means failure to meet an obligation: to default on a loan is to miss payments, and a default judgment is entered when a party fails to appear in court.
In sports, to win by default means the opponent didn't show up.
I left the settings on default.
The company defaulted on its debt.
