Datsun

Defunct Japanese automaker

Datsun is a Japanese automobile brand, originally independent, later owned by Nissan.

The name was prominent from the 1960s through the early 1980s, when affordable Datsun cars and pickup trucks became common on American roads: My first car was a Datsun 240Z.

Nissan phased out the Datsun name in 1986, though it briefly revived the brand for emerging markets in the 2010s.
