Polestar

Volvo's electric spinoff

Polestar has two meanings.

The polestar is a star positioned near a celestial pole, especially Polaris, the North Star, which has guided navigators for centuries because it appears fixed while other stars rotate around it.

By extension, a polestar is any guiding principle or central focus: Academic freedom became the polestar of the university's mission.

Polestar is also a Swedish automotive brand producing electric vehicles.
