CRH

Pituitary ACTH trigger

CRH is corticotropin-releasing hormone, a signaling molecule produced in the brain's hypothalamus that triggers the stress response.

When released, CRH prompts the pituitary gland to secrete ACTH, which in turn stimulates cortisol production.

The CRH system is central to how the body responds to physical and psychological stress.
