Amenhotep

Ancient Egyptian ruler

Amenhotep is a name borne by four pharaohs of ancient Egypt's Eighteenth Dynasty.

Amenhotep III presided over a golden age of prosperity and monumental building.

Amenhotep IV is better known as Akhenaten, who revolutionized Egyptian religion by promoting worship of the sun disk Aten.

The name means "Amun is satisfied," referring to the chief god of Thebes.
