9-volt
Smoke detector's heart
A 9-volt is a rectangular battery with two snap connectors on top, commonly used in smoke detectors, guitar pedals, and portable radios.
The distinctive shape makes it easy to identify: I need to replace the 9-volt in the smoke alarm.
Unlike cylindrical batteries, 9-volts stand upright and connect by snapping onto a terminal clip.
