xenobiologists
Alien life scientists
Xenobiologists are scientists who study life forms from other planets or, more practically, theorize about what extraterrestrial life might look like and how to detect it.
The field remains largely speculative since no alien life has been confirmed, but xenobiologists draw on biology, chemistry, and astronomy to consider how life might arise under different conditions: The xenobiologists debated whether silicon-based organisms could evolve on that moon.
