exobiologist
Studies extraterrestrial organisms
An exobiologist is a scientist who studies the possibility and nature of life beyond Earth.
The field, also called astrobiology, combines elements of biology, chemistry, astronomy, and geology to investigate questions about how life might arise and survive on other planets or moons.
Exobiologists study extreme environments on Earth as analogs for extraterrestrial conditions and analyze data from space missions searching for biosignatures.
The exobiologist examined samples from Mars for signs of microbial life.
