winners podium
Medal ceremony stage
A winners podium is the tiered platform where competition medalists stand during award ceremonies, with first place elevated in the center, second and third on lower steps to either side.
The arrangement literally puts the champion above the rest: She stood on the winners podium for the first time in her career.
Also called a medal podium or victory podium.
