web-server
Delivers online pages
A web server is a computer system that stores and delivers website content to users over the internet.
When you visit a webpage, your browser sends a request to a web server, which responds with the files needed to display that page.
The term also refers to the software that handles these requests: We installed Apache as our web server.
Also spelled without the hyphen.
