weatherglass
Storm prediction device
A weatherglass is a barometer or other instrument used to forecast weather by measuring atmospheric pressure.
The term is old-fashioned, largely replaced by barometer in common usage.
Some plants are called weatherglass because their flowers open or close in response to humidity: The scarlet pimpernel is sometimes called the poor man's weatherglass.
