walloper

One who thumps

A walloper is someone or something that hits hard.

The word appears most often in informal contexts describing a powerful punch, a dominant competitor, or anything impressively forceful: He's a real walloper at the plate.

In Australian and New Zealand slang, walloper is also casual term for a police officer.
