wimp
No backbone type
A wimp is a weak, timid, or ineffectual person—someone who lacks courage or physical strength.
The word carries contempt: Don't be such a wimp.
To wimp out is to back down from something challenging out of fear or reluctance: He wimped out of the bungee jump at the last minute.
Wimpy describes characteristically feeble behavior.
