waferboard

Flaked lumber panel

Waferboard is a building material made from thin wood chips or flakes bonded together with resin and compressed into rigid sheets.

Similar to particleboard but with larger, flatter pieces, it serves as an economical alternative to plywood for sheathing, subflooring, and other structural applications: The contractors covered the frame with waferboard before adding siding.
