vegetative
Like sprouting plants
Vegetative describes plant life or plant-like characteristics: vegetative growth, vegetative reproduction.
In medicine, a vegetative state is one of minimal consciousness—the body maintains basic functions like breathing and heartbeat, but shows no awareness or purposeful response.
The word can also describe passive, inactive existence: a vegetative lifestyle of watching TV all day.
