vectorization

Eliminating explicit loops

Vectorization is the process of converting operations to work on entire arrays or datasets at once rather than processing elements one by one.

In programming, vectorized code runs faster because it exploits parallel processing: Vectorization sped up the simulation by a factor of ten.

In a separate sense, vectorization converts raster images (made of pixels) into vector graphics (made of mathematical curves and shapes), allowing infinite scaling without quality loss.
