vaporware
Announced but nonexistent
Vaporware is software or hardware that has been announced or marketed but never actually released, or released so late that the hype has long faded.
The term emerged in the tech industry to describe products that exist only in press releases and promises: The company's much-hyped operating system turned out to be vaporware.
It implies skepticism about whether the product will ever materialize.
