Tight plastic covering
Shrinkwrap is thin plastic film that, when heated, contracts tightly around whatever it covers, typically for packaging products.
As a verb, to shrinkwrap something is to enclose it in this material.
The term extends to software licensing: a shrinkwrap license or shrinkwrap agreement is one you're deemed to accept simply by opening the package.
The DVDs came shrinkwrapped in sets of three.
