vagal
Of wandering nerve
Vagal means relating to the vagus nerve, the long cranial nerve that runs from the brain through the neck and into the abdomen, regulating heart rate, digestion, and other involuntary functions.
Vagal tone refers to the activity level of this nerve.
A vagal response can cause fainting when the nerve slows the heart too much.
