upperworld

Realm of privilege

The upperworld is the realm of the living, as opposed to the underworld of the dead—a term from mythology and religion describing the sunlit world above ground.

By extension, upperworld describes legitimate society in contrast to the criminal underworld: The money was laundered back into the upperworld through real estate.

The word mirrors underworld but sees far less use.
