tree sap
Sticky forest fluid
Tree sap is the fluid that circulates through a tree, carrying water and nutrients.
Some trees produce sap valued for human use—maple sap boiled down becomes syrup, while pine sap yields turpentine and rosin.
Sap is sticky and can be difficult to remove from hands or clothing: I got tree sap all over my jacket.
