tradenames

Registered product names

Tradenames are proprietary names under which products or services are marketed—brand names that distinguish one company's offerings from another's.

A tradename may be legally protected as a trademark: Tylenol is a tradename for acetaminophen.

The term also refers to the name under which a business operates, which may differ from its legal corporate name.

Also spelled as two words: trade names.
