A trade paperback is a softcover book that's larger and typically better-made than a mass-market paperback.
Trade paperbacks are sized closer to hardcovers, printed on higher-quality paper, and sold primarily in bookstores rather than drugstores or airports.
In comics, a trade paperback collects several issues of a series into a single volume: I waited for the trade paperback instead of buying the individual issues.
