text editing
Changing written content
Text editing is the process of modifying written content—inserting, deleting, rearranging, or correcting text.
The term applies broadly, from revising a novel manuscript to changing a single character in a computer file.
In computing, text editing refers specifically to working with plain, unformatted characters, distinct from word processing: I use a simple text editor for writing code.
