syndicalists

Labor movement radicals

Syndicalists are advocates of syndicalism, a labor movement theory holding that workers should control industry through trade unions rather than through state ownership or private capitalism.

The term usually refers to revolutionary syndicalists who believed general strikes could overthrow capitalism and replace it with worker-run collectives: The syndicalists clashed with both communists and reformist socialists over strategy.
