industrial union

All-workers labor group

An industrial union organizes all workers in a particular industry regardless of their specific trade or skill level—autoworkers, steelworkers, or mineworkers, for example.

This contrasts with craft unions, which organize workers by occupation across industries.

The United Auto Workers is an industrial union representing everyone from assembly line workers to janitors in auto plants.
