supinate

Rotate palm up

To supinate is to rotate the forearm so the palm faces upward, or to rotate the foot so the weight shifts to the outer edge.

The opposite motion is pronation.

Runners and physical therapists discuss supination when analyzing gait: She supinates when she walks, which affects her knee alignment.
