starboard side
Vessel's right half
Starboard side is the right side of a ship or aircraft when facing forward.
The term is nautical in origin, distinguishing direction unambiguously regardless of which way a person faces: The lighthouse appeared on our starboard side.
Starboard side is redundant—starboard alone means the right side—but the fuller phrase remains common for clarity.
