spf

Lotion bottle number

SPF stands for sun protection factor, a measure of how much UV radiation is blocked by sunscreen.

The number indicates how much longer you can stay in the sun without burning compared to unprotected skin: SPF 30 blocks about 97% of UVB rays.

Higher numbers offer marginally more protection but no sunscreen blocks everything.

In computing, SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is an email authentication method.
