soul tie
Deep emotional link
A soul tie is an intense emotional or spiritual bond believed to form between people, especially through sexual intimacy or deep relationships.
The concept comes from Christian teaching, where it can be positive (marriage) or negative (connections formed outside marriage that supposedly fragment the soul).
In broader usage, it describes any powerful attachment that feels hard to break: I'm still healing from that soul tie with my ex.
Often used to explain why someone struggles to move on from a past relationship.
