softbox
Photography lighting modifier
A softbox is a photographic lighting accessory that fits over a light source to diffuse and soften the illumination.
The enclosure, typically rectangular or octagonal, has reflective interior walls and a translucent front panel that spreads light evenly while reducing harsh shadows.
Softboxes are standard equipment in portrait and product photography, where flattering, controlled lighting matters.
She positioned the softbox at a 45-degree angle to minimize shadows on the model's face.
