snow drift
Winter's sculpted mound
A snow drift is an accumulation of snow that has been blown by wind into a mound or bank, often against obstacles like fences, buildings, or natural terrain features.
Drifts can range from small piles to massive formations several feet deep, making roads impassable and burying vehicles or structures.
The snow drift against the barn door was nearly four feet high.
Unlike evenly fallen snow, drifts form where wind patterns deposit snow unevenly across the landscape.
