deke

Puck-handler's misdirection

A deke is a deceptive move, originally in hockey—a quick fake to draw a defender out of position before going another direction: He deked the goalie and scored.

The word extends to any feint or misdirection: She deked left, then cut right.

As a verb, to deke someone is to fake them out.
