slant line

Non-vertical straight mark

A slant line is a diagonal line, particularly the forward slash (/) used in writing.

In typography, it separates alternatives and/or, indicates line breaks in quoted poetry, or builds fractions 3/4.

In mathematics, slant lines appear in graphs and geometric figures.

Also called a slash, virgule, or solidus.
